I’m writing this in advance as I will be on the beaches of Cabo San Lucas when you read this today, December 24.
It’s just the five of us–my hubby and our three kids–enjoying each other’s company, knowing that the older they get, the harder it will be for us to make experiences like this happen. Our oldest has taken a job in Silicon Valley after he graduates this May. Our middle child is a junior in college and our youngest will be off to college this fall.
Life is change.
I’ve been observing lately the paradox of how, as humans, we are often very resistant to change and yet change is part of our very existence. Our bodies are changing, our minds are changing and hopefully our hearts and souls are growing and changing.
During this holiday season and beyond, I plan to embrace change with all its discomfort and surprise, knowing that something wonderful waits on the other side. I invite you to do the same.
Wishing you joy!
Enjoy, Denise! We love Cabo and go twice a year. Some of our best vacations ever have been there with our kids:) Our oldest is graduating this May and heading to college, so I am very much feeling your pain on the change issue. Merry Christmas to you!
Twice a year? Wow! Would love to get tips on your fave places – we’d like to go back–had a great time! Do you snorkel or scuba dive? So, you’re first off to college. Sending good thoughts your way. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Oh man, we have lots of favorites! My husband loves The Office, and we usually eat there at least twice. My kids love Romeo and Juliet’s for pasta. We also ate at Salvatore’s last year which was great as was DOC Winebar…as you can see, my kids are more interested in eating Italian than Mexican:( Panchos is always fun too. Saloman’s Landing on the marina has a great breakfast…too many good places! Glad you had a great time! My husband and I along with two other couples are heading there January 31st. First time without kids in a couple years, but I can’t wait to go. We’ve snorkeled a time or two but never dived. I often think it would be fun to try but have never taken the time to do so. Had a great Christmas, thanks. Hope you did too!
Awesome recommendations! I’m going to save these on my phone for our next visit. We went to Salvatore’s – LOVED it! Food was awesome and had to get the T-shirt: “Legalize Marinara.” 🙂 We also went to Saloman’s landing – for dinner. Great place. Enjoy your trip at the end of the month – would love to hear about good snorkeling places too! Thanks so much!!
